Today I bought a box of 12 oil pastels for Rumi and me. They might be difficult to use if you want to make something likable, but I was using them as a two year old would. Mostly to scribble and express how helpless and confused I have been feeling. Like these old babies. Still, the two year old me got to make noises, sing every color, how I love oil pastels, and my kids found that entertaining. Oh dear. Will I find my pain funny? Any time soon? Please.
Clueless.

does it have to?
I have been on a diet for 16 days and have lost 0 pounds. At least the things I have been cooking are tastier than usual.
The rose we walk by. Its whiteness and round shapes. The fragrance. All the buds. The aphids.
Half of the sketches from today's story time.
This blog lost its purpose. This feels sad, but does it have to?

SCBWI conference
This is all I drew during the two day SCBWI conference near Portland. Being surrounded by over 200 people for 9 hours a day is a great opportunity for drawing, but I was busy listening and taking notes. When I came home this wonderful girl was waiting for me and wanted to play with my hair. Something I love.
So I had a great weekend.
Happy day to you.

Death
Frog heaven.
The tea army still impresses me.
Our two frogs died today. So disturbing.
Earlier this week.
Sketches of Chinese robes from a slideshow presentation.
I love drawing with a brush.
Bragging. Mother's day back of a card.
The tentacles are growing.
At talks.

Love is round and soft
Maybe you'll forgive me for putting too many sacred words together. I just feel inspired and joyful . The things I am sharing here make me happy when I look at them. I believe it's the roundness, the softness in both the shapes and the material s. And a certain simplicity. Maybe you like them too.
This is from a motel in Navaho country. They didn't pick earthy colours for the pen, but it is a strong combination this blue and the red. I still have not gotten to the pictures from the desert trip...
Talking about round and simple forms, having to draw these very complex machines, so full of details/parts was challenging. I suppose it is good to be taken out of your comfort zone. Once in a while. Happy Friday!

Trust, nature, cosmos
Hi. These tentacles impressed me so this morning. That's where the name of the post came from.
I am sharing two of my favorite things. Round shapes and colors. Ah, and to doodle with ink.
Drew Sipcho for a first time. Not well, but tried at least.
Good bye!
