dreams and ideals

There is an unpleasant reflection right in the center, and the right side of the board looks/is dirty. But finding a quiet moment and doodling this yesterday felt so good. Some days we are so busy with things we have to do, that even a small bit of drawing can bring relief to the system.

Chirchir Is Singing:  Kelly Cunnane, Jude Daly

Maybe a year ago I took a personality test. It turned out that I was an incurable idealist called
The Campaigner. This is his motto:

It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for – and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing. It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool – for love – for your dreams – for the adventure of being alive.

Sounds kind of nice doesn't it?

children and chaos

Below I'm comparing the printed Photoshop touched up version with the original drawings. I like the original ones better.

I struggle with composing, balancing, my static and repetitive solutions, multitudes and order in general.
I hope those difficulties could be overcome. Other times I worry if the sense of order can't be cultivated. If it is just an innate trait that you either have or don't.
I think that because of those organizational issues I am attracted to accidental shots. They sure show much fresher compositions and unconventional viewpoints.

After making up children and moving heads for two days, I thought it would be good to draw some real children from life. I was late for the event and could record VERY little quite poorly. Still, I am glad I went.

Is taking photos of flowers very difficult or is it just me? This is my favorite kind of daffodil. Plants often look like such a chaotic mass, where no two flowers look the same. (Different positions in space) Unlike how we tend to represent them. Stamp, stamp. Like a floral fabric pattern.

Skiing, bright colors, road

On the fourth of March we went skiing. Sadly I did not enjoy it, but the kids and Ivan had a good time.

This wonderful kid's art lives in the lodge.

Magnificent views on the drive back.

Grapefruit

These photos are a few days old. I love grapefruit colours.

An interesting title right ?

And when I opened it to see those lands, the pictures reminded me of the communist propaganda art that was everywhere in Bulgaria in the eighties.

Sugarcoated or not next to those illustrations my drawing looks so naive and poorly drawn.
Oh,well... it is this one though, that my kids liked most. Out of seven.

no big or small

X was here to play with Rumi. She loves her dog. She drew him on the board.

I try to buy as little as possible, and hesitated much before purchasing it, but the kids use it all the time.
 Pretty colors.

this strange world and pink roots

Here is to strength and overcoming difficulties.

Do you like these? Found them today. They remind me of jingle bells. I like jingle bells. Isn't their 'patina' look nice?

Wished to start with something pretty, before mentioning suffering, war, politics, and the feeling of complete absurdity one gets when listening to the US news nowadays. What can one say about this mad world? Or human madness? Rumi tied a pink ribbon around the vase noticing that the roots of the curly willow are pink.

a big sword

An accidental picture from this afternoon.

Something I found in the trash.

A picture of my unwashed hair? No. I took it because of the green hair pins.

A bunch of daffodils are blooming in the back yard, and Rumi and I drew them. I shall try again. These pale paintings don't show what interested me when I saw them in the morning. The movement of the stems and the weight of the blooms. It is true that the morning light was very different from the one in the afternoon. Hopefully I can make a drawing with some sense of depth.

Here it is. The big sword.

And what was on the board this morning. Best wishes.
